Thigh lift

Dramatic or sudden weight loss can result in loose or sagging skin to any part of the body. A thigh lift is a procedure carried out to remove excess skin and fat in either the inner or outer part of the thigh. At the same time the area is lifted in order to restore the position of the thighs and produce a firmer appearance.

+ What will happen during my treatment?

A thigh lift is always carried out under a general anaesthetic and takes 1-2 hours in theatre.

During the procedure, incisions are made enabling the excess skin and fat to be removed.

The incisions will be stitched closed and covered by dressings. Small, thin tubes (drains) might be temporarily inserted in the wound to drain away any excess fluid but these will be removed before you’re discharged from hospital.

The recovery period after your surgery is approx. 2-4 weeks. Following the surgery, you will be required to come back to clinic after one week for a dressing removal or change, and a check up to ensure everything is settling.
