Moles and Birthmarks

Moles are discoloured lesions on the skin that are often brown or black in colour, and can be raised.

These are usually harmless but can be unsightly and also the cause of embarrassment, especially when positioned in an obvious place. Cosmetic mole and birthmark removal is not usually available through the NHS.

These skin lesions can be excised under local or general anaesthetic. This is something which can be discussed at the consultation.

We work closely with the Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetists from Leeds Children’s Hospital.
