Nipple Correction

Some people are born with inverted nipples, either on one or both sides. This can cause embarrassment and self-esteem issues. Surgery for inverted nipple correction is relatively straight forward. If alternative methods at correcting the nipples have not been attempted, such as “Nipplette”, then this will be encouraged before any surgical intervention.

+ What will happen during my treatment?

Surgery to correct inverted nipples is usually performed under local anaesthetic and takes approx. 30-60 mins in theatre. You will be ready to go home an hour or so after the procedure.

During the operation, a cut will be made around the nipple to release it from the surrounding tissue. It is then re-stitched so that it protrudes.

A dressing will be applied to the area for one week and you will be able to wear normal clothing straight away. Following the surgery, you will be required to come back to clinic after one week for a dressing removal or change, and a check up to ensure everything is settling.
