Sarcoma (cancer)

Sarcomas are uncommon soft tissue tumours. In order to diagnose the sarcoma, you may first of all need an ultrasound scan which can then be followed by further imaging, such as an MRI scan. If a diagnosis still cannot be made, you may be required to have a biopsy or excision of the lump so that a sample can be sent away for histological testing.

All cases of suspected sarcoma are discussed by Mr Smith at the Sarcoma Multi-Disciplinary

Meeting at St James Hospital in Leeds.
