BREAST reduction

Many women with large breasts suffer physical discomfort such as back and shoulder pain, bra strap grooving and posture problems, along with eczema and skin problems underneath the breasts. It can affect their self-esteem, the clothes they wear, and some are unwilling to take part in any vigorous physical activity.

Breast reduction is a popular cosmetic procedure that will reduce the size and volume of the breasts and, at the same time, give them a more youthful appearance.

+ What will happen during my treatment?

Breast reduction surgery is carried out under a general anaesthesia and involves a 1-2 night stay in hospital.

Following surgery, a small drain is placed in each side and is removed before you are discharged from hospital. The stitches are all buried and are dissolving.

Following the surgery, you will be required to come back to clinic after one week for a dressing removal or change, and a check up to ensure everything is settling. It is recommended that you take two weeks off work for recovery and you will be able to return to light activities within a couple of weeks.
